The IT unit provides Information Technology services to the Authority as an enabler for improved and effective management of NDA core functions. Such services include design and implementation of Management Information Systems (MIS ) through integrating computer systems in day to day management activities , systems support and maintenance, negotiating and managing IT related contracts, identify emerging technologies to meet NDA’s needs and training staff on the proper use of software and IT equipment.
The unit creates a condusive environment that enables NDA staff to quickly access vital information using efficient and cost effective hardware and software solutions.

To deploy information technologies in NDA that increase overall NDA productivity and performance.
GOALS
To realize the vision behind the ICT policy, the following goals have been set:
- Promote widespread use of ICT applications in all NDA departments for efficient service delivery
- Establish an efficient and cost-effective ICT infrastructure that provides equitable access to local, national and international networks.
- Develop an extensive pool of trained ICT manpower at all levels to meet the requirements of NDA
- Set up NDA information systems that are reliable, secure, up-to-date and easily accessible.
SERVICES
- Provide information technology infrastructure and services to the Authority, including:
- Network services (email, file storage, web/portal, document management, etc.)
- Basic infrastructure (network, wireless, telephony, desktop support)
- Staffs support (IT Help Desk, computer acquisition and usage guidelines, etc.)
- Telecommunications provisioning (Internet, voice, remote sites, etc.)
- Enterprise applications (financial, human resources, etc.)
In addition, the team works together with all other departments in developing Information technology projects and proving information on the intranet, email and website.
Major projects under development
- Developing on an online drug register Funded by the Medicines Transparency Alliance (MeTA)
- Development of an electronic import/export verification system funded by NDA
- Development of an ICT master plan and needs assessment for NDA Funded by SURE.
- Installation of a Wide Area Network WAN for NDA funded by NDA

The unit is headed by an Information Technology Officer assisted by an Assistant Information Technology Officer. |
