The National Drug Authority (NDA) is drug regulatory body in Uganda was established by a Statute No. 13 of 1993. The Statute was later revised in 2000 into an Act of Parliament Chapter 206 of the laws of Uganda, 2000 edition. The Act mandates NDA to regulate human and veterinary medicines and other health-care products for quality, safety and efficacy.
NDA has an Authority (Board), Commission and a Secretariat. The Secretariat headed by the Executive Secretary/Registrar as the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day operations of NDA.
