Profile:
The NATIONAL DRUG AUTHORITY is drug regulatory body established by Uganda Government Statute No. 13 of 1993. The Authority consists of a Chairman and 19 members drawn from various disciplines and sectors with special relevance and interest in proper administration and management of drugs.
The role of NDA:
NDA's role is to ensure that only high quality, efficacious and cost effective medicine (both human and veterinary) are availed to the population of Uganda.
NDA has four technical departments:
- Drug Assessment and Registration Department
- Inspectorate Department
- Drug Information Department
- National Drug Quality Control Laboratory
