National Drug Authority had engagements with 95 herbalists at their respective premises to enable them comply with drug regulatory requirements. The activity held in March 2021 covered Kampala (Makindye, Nakawa, Rubaga, & Kawempe). This engagement is in line with promoting research, development & ethical promotion of herbal medicines.
NDA discussed the following non compliance:
1. Hawking of herbal drugs from make shift structures in markets and along the roads.
2. Mislabeled products with misleading therapeutic claims.
3. Substandard and adulterated products.
